Welcome to my electronic teaching portfolio, where I have assembled various aspects from my past two decades in the classroom. I believe the keys to successful instruction are an awareness of self, the ability to reflect on one's teaching and acceptance of others. I cannot agree more with the captivating words of Larry Cuban, Emeritus Professor from Stanford University's College of Education, which are meaningful for all instructors:
"Learning who you are helps considerably in coping daily with the uncertainty
inherent in classroom teaching. So does converting that self-knowledge, what you know about your children, your subject, and your skills, into something practical that gives students in a classroom a mind-enhancing slice of life rather than a clock-watching exercise."
Quote by Larry Cuban (2004, p. xi) In S. Wassermann This teaching life: How I taught myself to teach. New York: Teachers College Press.
